The Bellingham King Nissan Post 7 Senior Legion baseball team finished with a split Saturday on the final day of the Langley (B.C.) Blaze Tournament.

In the first game, Post 7 lost 9-5 to the Langley Blaze as Blaze catcher Brett Lawrie, the 2008 No. 16 overall selection by the Milwaukee Brewers, had two three-run home runs in the game.

Post 7 starting pitcher Casey Locker (1-1) took the loss, throwing 5 2/3 innings, striking out six and walking three, and Jared Vera led the offense with two home runs in the game.

In the second game, Post 7 shut out Nanaimo 8-0 in a rain-shortened 5 inning game behind the offense of Evan Fenton, 3 for 3 with 3 runs, and Tenny Pitsch, 2 for 3 with a run and an RBI.

Shayne Honcoop (2-1) picked up the win.

Post 7 is back in action on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the Skagit Sox at a yet-to-be-determined site.
