Guard Amanda Dunbar came off the bench to score a game-high 19 points, 16 of them in the first half, lifting Western Washington University to a 69-52 triumph over Lewis-Clark State College in the final game of the 12th annual Lynda Goodrich Classic on Sunday, Nov. 16 on Haggen Court at Sam Carver Gymnasium.

Forward Jessica Summers, who was named tournament MVP, had 14 points and 11 rebounds for the Vikings, who improved to 2-0.

L-C State, ranked No.5 in the preseason NAIA Division I Top 25, fell to 2-3. Forward Sadie Short led the Warriors with 17 points and eight rebounds.

Dunbar went 6 of 7 from the field in the opening half, including 4 of 4 on 3-point attempts, helping the Vikings grab a 29-18 halftime lead after a half in which both teams struggled from the field.

LCSC had an 8-7 lead with just under 14 minutes left in the half. The game went scoreless for nearly three minutes after that before Dunbar keyed an 8-2 Western run with a pair of 3-pointers. That gave Western a 15-11 lead with 9:57 left in the first half, and the Vikings led the rest of the way.

In the other tourney game Sunday, Saint Martin's defeated Cascade, 85-71.

Dunbar and Short joined Summers on the all-tournament team, along with forward Dara Zack and center Krissy Bassett of Saint Martin's and guard Kristina Schumacher of Cascade.

Western next hosts a Great Northwest Athletic Conference/California Collegiate Athletic Association Crossover Classic on Friday and Saturday. The Vikings face Cal Poly Pomona at 7 p.m. Friday. Seattle Pacific and UC San Diego meet in the opening game at 5 p.m.
