Explains 'love affair' with Barack Obama

In response to the recent letter about one's "love affair with Obama," I would like to ask some questions.

What lies, specifically, did he tell? Am I, and hundreds of my friends, the blind, unsavory people who donated our $25 each month to his campaign?

His campaign was won through a tremendous effort by the majority of voters in this country at the grass-roots level. We took the time to learn about him; we read his books, listened to his speeches, checked out the facts, investigated his voting records. We admired his stance against starting the felonious war in Iraq, which was based on lies.

Is the letter's author also stating that foreign leaders, sick of American politics as usual, supported Obama blindly? What a relief to finally elect a brilliant, well-educated and sensible man to lead this country.

I believe the last eight years have almost destroyed us. Obama brings hope, and we can finally start healing our country and revitalize our relationships with the rest of the world. This is why we love him.

Our nation will not survive unless we accomplish these things.
