Thanks veterans, enjoyed news coverage

Thanks to the Bellingham Herald for covering the Veterans Day program with such informative detail. I wasn’t able to attend, but I was so encouraged to read in the Nov. 12 issue that our military veterans were honored at city hall in such a meaningful way. The prayers, the speeches and especially the songs were clear messages that this great country has been blessed by God. Truly, without his strength and direction, America could not prevail as the nation of freedom.

During this period of political arguing and division over governing ideologies, your coverage was a sweet reminder that we can all unite in at least one truth: America’s freedom is worth defending. Thank you, veterans, for your sacrifice.
