For the second straight year, a long trip east to Pullman for the Class 2A state quarterfinals didn't faze the Burlington-Edison football team.
The Tigers scored 14 unanswered points in the second half to come back for a 14-7 victory over the Greyhounds on Saturday, Nov. 22 at Gonzaga Prep.
Burlington (10-2) moves on to the semifinals where it will face the same Prosser team it lost to in the state championship game last year.
Pullman scored the first points of the game in the second quarter, but Stetson Shearer's 3-yard run in the third quarter pulled the Tigers within one point after a missed extra-point kick attempt.
Troy O'Neill hauled in a 79 touchdown pass and a two-point conversion throw from Dylan Boe for the winning margin.
The TD was one of only two passes the Tigers completed in the game, as they rushed 42 times for 175 yards.
Shearer led the way with 83 yards on 12 carries, while Cole Sager had 60 on 13 attempts and Jeff Adams added 38 yards on seven rushes.
Last year, Burlington beat Pullman 28-6 in Spokane in the quarterfinals.
