Lahcen Flifla and Monica Romano were married June 20, 2008 in Morocco. The Groom’s family held celebrations all weekend at their home in Kenitra. On the eve of the wedding, the bride and her new female relatives enjoyed a relaxing visit to the Hammam (Turkish style steam bath); then returned home for mint tea, sweets and the century-honored henna party. Family members gathered to witness the couple sign their marriage certificates and danced the night away. The next morning, the family was busy attending to last minute details. In the evening, Lahcen and Monica were greeted in the street by musicians, drums and singing. The bride wore 6 different silk dresses during the party, each representing a different region in Morocco.
Mallard - Morlock
Chris Mallard & Breanna Morlock have been dating for nearly 2.5 years. Their wedding date is set for July 18th 2009, their 3rd anniversary. The wedding will be in Southern California.
Jerry and Norma Stenevich
Jerry and Norma Stenevich will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. A no-gift open house, planned by their children, will take place on Sunday, Dec. 7, from 2-4 PM at Nooksack Valley Reformed Church, 602 E. 2nd St., Nooksack, WA.
Floyd Sandell
Born November 29, 1918 in Burlington, WA, Floyd Sandell will celebrate his 90th birthday with family and friends. His wife Verna (Pettett) has been by his side for 67 years. They have two children; Linda (Phil) Thorsteinson and Deane (Susan) Sandell, three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Floyd and Verna belong to Trinity Lutheran Church.
Vercammen - Lewis
Catherine Sarah Vercammen, daughter of Anne and Mike Vercammen, and Douglas Jay Lewis, son of Tina and Doug Lewis, announce their engagement and plans to be married Sept 18, 2009 in Sonoma, California.
Gladys Eckhart
Gladys Eckhart is celebrating her 95th birthday. She was born Thanksgiving night, November 28, 1913, in Seattle General Hospital to James William and Bessie Dry Lawlor.
