DEMING — In the Lifestyles RV 1200s on Friday, Aug. 15, at Deming Speedway, Eric Drake made a late strategic decision to protect low and make Cody Anderlini drive around the high side for a chance at the lead. The move paid off for Drake as Anderlini’s car couldn’t roll around the top side, giving Drake the win. Anderlini secured second while Jason Bloodgood brought home third.
In the Frontier Chevrolet/Speedmart 600s, Kyle Johnson took the lead on lap 17 and held on to win. Trey Starks was second and Colton Heath rallied from 10th to take third place.
Chad Sinner picked a good night to reintroduce himself to victory lane. Sinner easily handled the full field of PMP Chassis 600 re-stricted cars, leading all 20 laps of their feature. Jacob Buckenmeyer was second, Rece Goetz third.
Jake Benson extended his points lead in the Advanced Sprint Car & Toys for Trucks 250s. Eric Turner took second, holding off his brother Brandon Turner, who earned a third-place finish.
Isaac Abenroth earned his first career victory in the Kasey Kahne Junior Sprints. Abenroth led all 15 laps of the main event, holding off points leader Skyler Pawlowicz and Robie Price to take home the big trophy for the first time.
All five classes will be in action Friday, Aug. 22, at Deming Speedway for Al’s Honda Night. Ticket information is available at www.demingspeedway.com.
